In short: we collect only what's needed to sell you the software and send it to you: your name, email and order details. Focus Tracks only goes online to check whether a newer version is out, and sends nothing about you or your projects. Our website uses Google Analytics to count visits. We don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
PostFocus is a business of J.B. Waggoner, a sole proprietor in Tennessee, USA (“PostFocus”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect through thepostfocus.com, checkout and our software.
1. What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address, billing country and postal code, and order details (what you bought, quantity, price, date). Your card or other payment details go directly to Link and Stripe; we never see or store them.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you write.
- When you visit our website: our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability. We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how many people visit and which pages they view. We don't use advertising cookies. You can block analytics with your browser settings or Google's opt-out add-on.
2. The software
Focus Tracks runs on your computer. Its only network connection is a check, when the panel opens, of a small file on thepostfocus.com to see whether a newer version is available; like any web request, our host sees your IP address. It saves your panel preferences (such as Lock or Mute mode) on your computer and stores track roles inside your Premiere Pro project. None of this is sent to us or anyone else.
3. How we use it
- To process your order and deliver the software, including emailing your download link.
- To answer your questions, handle refunds and provide support.
- To keep records required for tax and accounting.
- To tell you about important updates to software you bought. We won't send marketing email unless you sign up for it.
4. Who we share it with
Only the services that help us run the store, and only what they need:
- Stripe and Link: payment processing, sales tax and fraud prevention (Stripe Privacy Policy, Link Privacy Policy).
- Resend: sends your download email.
- Netlify: hosts our website and download.
- Google Analytics: website visit statistics (Google Privacy Policy).
- Google (Gmail): our support inbox.
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose it if the law requires.
5. How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed for your license, support, and tax and accounting rules (usually up to seven years). Support emails are kept while they're useful for helping you.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you, by writing to contact@thepostfocus.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, and we'll honor them. We may need to keep some order records where the law requires.
7. Security
Our website uses HTTPS, payments are handled by Stripe, and access to our accounts is protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Children
Our products are for professional and adult users. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
